Pissed Consumer Interviews ?

My website is hosted at bluehost. I got an email from sitelock about a malware and my account was instantly deactivated.I logged in to the live chat asking for Security, then I got a call from a weird dude from SITELOCK.This guy started asking me how much money I make from that website, and tried to convince me to pay +$700 a year to have the malware removed and some firewall installed. After I repeatedly told him I have no money to invest in that BLOG, he actually told me:"Use someone else's money. Just use a credit card."Every time I told him that I just needed to remove the malware, he would try to scare me saying that it wont work, they will come back, hiring SiteLock is the ONLY way.I felt creeped out and hung up.After some google searches I realized those guys are a scam.Went to the live chat again and asked to speak with customer support.A Bluehost guy told me that all I had to do was delete 3 files on the file manager and the account would be reactivated.I did that in 3 minutes and solved the problem.Sitelock is a scam.

My website's average traffic increased from less than 100 to over 1600 hits per day. An Ipage representative advised it was due to Bot attacks, and recommended the purchase of a SiteLock plan. The service I purchased through Ipage stated the plan would "automatically...

I have a hosting plan with a known provider. I also host multiple domains on the same package and it was working fine for the first 4-5 years. I was satisfied with the host and their support. Last year all my sites got the same message: " Hacked by Indonesia Hackers "...

We created a Sitelock account in 2013 after speaking to their sales person Jon Olmstead and paid $400 for one year of service. In may 2014 they charged $299 to the card. Although the card number was never on the account. There was no invoice and there were no scan...

Sitelock sells a product they call "Find" to protect a site from malware, to locate the offending file so you can delete it. Unfortunately, it doesn't find even the most basic malware attack. When pressed, Sitelock admits they only look at 25 files on the website. They...

They pushed a hacker protection plan for my website as I kept getting SQL injections that would take down my website for days at a time. When I hired an outside programmer to help harden my website against this, he created a log file that recorded and highlighted...

Exact same issue. What they do is actually infect your site with malware then send you warnings to 'upgrade' to remove it. Unbelievable that Bluehost or Godaddy support them...

When I tried to cancel, they then said it was a 3 month minimum or a one time scan for $200. This was NOT what the sales person (Eric) told me. We went over all the possabilities for at least 15 minutes and he finally agreed to clean my site for $75 and that I could...

Similar experience and suspicions. I think they are in league with the hosting company. I am moving my sites to a hosting company that does not partner with Sitelock

I purchased the Sitelock basic annual plan for $19.99/year through Bluehost on a new website ... it was a last minute "add on" to my hosting plan, so I thought it would be good idea. Three months later I receive an email that my website was infected with malware and I...
