Bluehost claimed my website suddenly acquired malware after running fine for four years and being fully patched up. They threatened to disable my site Google search console found no such malware.

Conveniently, their "partner" Sitelock could clean my site for $25-$100 per month. Funny, but they had representatives from SiteLock on premises (yes, at Bluehost) that could help me. "Connor" from SiteLock also used the words trojan and virus – which are different from malware. Everything was an upsell, and this "tech" was a salesman who tried to sell me one of their pricey removal packages.

When I said that I wanted to think about the options that he emailed me, Connor from Sitelock then used a lot of questionable language and fear tactics claiming that one bad review against my site could "burn it to the ground." Wow. Don't fall for it. It's a carefully orchestrated scam by BlueHost and Sitelock.

Backup and export all your files and move your website somewhere else! Good Luck!
